Through your eyes I see the stars so bright, the moon, and the darkness of night. I see butterflies and flowers that dance in the breeze. I see the wind as it blows, and the leaves fall, the newness of snow, the glory of it all. All of this so day to day, but through your eyes it all seems new/5. Etymology. First attested in English 14th century, the word circus derives from Latin circus, which is the romanization of the Greek κίρκος (kirkos), itself a metathesis of the Homeric Greek κρίκος (krikos), meaning "circle" or "ring". In the book De Spectaculis early Christian writer Tertullian claimed that the first circus games were staged by the goddess Circe in honour of her Ancestor arts: Drama.

Bert Fegg's Nasty Book for Boys And Girls is a humorous book first published by Methuen in which purports to have been written by a psychopathic character, Dr. Fegg. In fact, the book is the work of Terry Jones and Michael Palin, who adapted a range of material from scripts written for the television comedy series, Monty Python's Flying material was later used in the duo's Author: Terry Jones and Michael Palin. The Circus Poems by Alex Grant defied my expectations, becoming more than “just” a book about circus performers through contextualizing the circus in history and myth and leading the reader toward the idea of the circus as metaphor. The cover art by Sherill Ann Gross is vibrant and intriguing, and the book was beautifully designed by Leslie Rindoks, with illustrations of circus performers.

Circus Song added Original Author Unknown. Sung to: "I've Been Working on the Railroad" I am walking through the circus, Happy as can be. I am walking through the circus, Just to see what I can see. I can see the clown laughing. I can see the elephant, too. . circus Submitted By: KAISER. Merry be the Circus that stopped at my door. The clowns and magicians the animals o'er. The acrobatsheld tentatively, up in the sky. The smell of the peanuts, the popcorn, the pie. The magic and wonder of this untraveled land. The unknown adventures held tight in its hand. The colors and splendor, the spectators keen.

I do remember that it was about a dog at the circus. On the cover, I'm pretty sure there was a dog wearing a ruffled collar and balancing a ball on it's nose and standing on one of those stands that you usually see circus elephants standing on.

A book of poems titled The Circus Poems is promising a lot. But Alex Grant delivers. In the short prose poems that make up the greater part of this book, he explores the roles of some of the most prominent members of the circus's enclosed world, the clown, the acrobat, the lion tamer, the ringmaster and explains that these archetypal characters 5/5(8).
